Hi
everybody!
Welcome
to my kitchen! My name is Zehra. I was born in Turkey in a small village in
front of a hearth, with no running water or electricity. Nooo, I’m not a hundred
years old :-) I grew up in Germany in a traditional Turkish household. Since I
have moved to Pittsburgh I’ve often wondered why no one knows much about
Turkish cuisine. Turkish cuisine is one of the largest cuisines along with its
Chinese and French counterparts.
Hospitality is a big
part of Turkish culture and you can feel it in everyday life all around. I was
raised in a traditional Turkish household so I feel very lucky to be a part of
this rich, generous and welcoming culture. I remember that my mother would put
always two extra plates on the table, so if someone would ring the door bell,
they could join the meal. Turkish people like to share their food and enjoy
company. On my blog I would like to share my knowledge about Turkish cuisine,
but not only about Turkish cuisine!
Good food makes me smile :-)
